OK, here's my thought. I think we have just given up trying to control noise in our hallways, and I don't think we should. I can't even leave my door open any more, and every day I have to stop kids wandering in and out of the lab and library without a pass. I believe that orderly hallways keep kids focused on the fact that they are in an educational setting and that others are learning. But I see some teachers trying so hard to keep order while others are either laughing and joking with the kids or just sending students into the hall without supervision. Just my opinion, but I don't think this is appropriate.
I agree with Mary. I am completely in control of my class, and they usually have excellent hallway behavior. I am NOT in control of my color group for CSI and I think there are a variety of contributing factors. Some of their teachers may have different hallway expectations than I have. I do not know their names. Sometimes my tongue won't let me speak Spanish. I feel really bad for Susan and Erica every day but I don't know what to do. -Rachel
This is a great idea, thanks for making this available!!
